Job summary

Texas Health Dallas is hiring a Registered Nurse (RN) for the Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (CVICU). The role is full-time, days, 7A-7P, totaling 36 hours per week with weekend and holiday requirements.

The CVICU handles advanced cardiac and vascular procedures with a 2:1 staffing ratio and board-certified physicians overseeing care. Required: Nursing diploma or ADN; BSN preferred; 1 year CCU experience or RN residency; BCLS and ACLS; CPI training annually.

Qualifications

• Diploma of Nursing or ADN required; BSN preferred.
• One-year critical care nursing experience or RN residency required.
• Cardiac ICU experience strongly preferred – including open-heart recovery, IABP, Impella, CRRT, and bedside ECMO management.
• BCLS and ACLS required; CPI training annually.

Responsibilities

• Delivers care to patients using the Nursing Process.
• Assesses the patient.
• Plans the care of the patient.
• Intervenes as appropriate.
• Evaluates the effectiveness of interventions.
• Incorporates age-specific safety/infection control measures.
• Maintains continuity of patient care across shifts and transfers.
