Job summary

UnityPoint Health – Des Moines is seeking a qualified RN for full-time night shifts (7pm-7:30am) in the Labor & Delivery Unit at Iowa Methodist Medical Center. This role includes every third weekend and holiday rotation, with a $20,000 sign-on bonus for eligible hires.

You will deliver compassionate maternity care, collaborate with obstetricians, midwives, and NICU staff, and support families through antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum stages.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program or IA-approved nursing program.
• Current licensure in good standing as an RN in Iowa.
• Minimum of twelve months acute RN experience.
• Residents/new grads may participate in the RN Residency program.

Responsibilities

• Provides and coordinates nursing care to patients using the nursing process.
• Completes documentation to ensure an accurate record of care.
• Uses critical thinking to make independent judgments and keep up with current nursing practice.
• Collaborates with physicians and other professionals in planning and implementing care within policy and law.
• Assesses patient and family needs, provides education to facilitate discharge planning, and refers to community services for continuity of care.
• Demonstrates ongoing professional development and knowledge of healthcare trends.
