Job summary

HiredFirst is seeking a Respiratory Therapist in Gainesville, FL to deliver, set up, and maintain routine and non-routine respiratory therapies and equipment, including oxygen, aerosol therapy, and ventilators, per physician orders. The role requires ABG interpretation, solid knowledge of medications and patient responses, and effective communication with physicians and staff.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of RRT experience in ICU or critical care settings.
• Florida State Respiratory License.
• NBRC credential – RRT or CRT.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• ACLS to be obtained within 30 days of start date.
• NRP to be obtained within 30 days of start date.
• PALS to be obtained within 30 days of start date.

Responsibilities

• Deliver, set up, and maintain routine and non-routine respiratory therapies and equipment (oxygen, aerosol therapy, ventilators).
• Perform and interpret ABGs and apply knowledge of meds, side effects, and patient responses related to respiratory care.
• Communicate with physicians and staff, conduct patient assessments and reassessments, and provide instruction to patients and others.
• Recognize and report suspected abuse or neglect as part of the role.
