Job summary

HiredFirst is seeking a Respiratory Therapist for a Gainesville, FL hospital. The role involves delivering and maintaining respiratory therapies and equipment, including ventilators, per physician orders and standard practice.

The candidate should have at least 1 year of RRT experience in a critical care setting, a Florida license, and NBRC credentials. Additional certifications (BLS, ACLS, NRP, PALS) must be obtained within 30 days of start date. Relo: case by case.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of RRT experience, preferably in ICU/CVICU/NICU/PICU or other critical care settings
• Florida State Respiratory License
• NBRC credential – RRT or CRT
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date

Responsibilities

• Deliver, set up, and maintain routine and non-routine respiratory therapies and equipment (oxygen, aerosol therapy, ventilators) per physician orders
• Perform and interpret arterial blood gases and apply knowledge of medication dosages and patient responses
• Communicate with physicians and clinical staff, conduct patient assessments and reassessments
• Provide instruction to patients and staff as needed, recognize and report abuse or neglect
