Job summary

Aiken Regional Medical Centers in Aiken, South Carolina, is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist for full-time night shifts. The role provides basic and advanced cardiopulmonary services to neonatal through geriatric patients and may assume charge responsibilities.

The RRT II plans, implements, and evaluates cardiopulmonary services, with responsibilities spanning intubation, ventilation, teaching, and collaboration with the care team.

Qualifications

• Associates Degree in Respiratory Care or equivalent.
• Registered by the National Board for Respiratory Care.
• South Carolina Respiratory Care Practitioner License is required.
• BLS certification by the American Heart Association; ACLS, PALS, NALS.

Responsibilities

• Reviews, collects, and evaluates relevant clinical data.
• Performs pediatric through geriatric general and critical care including intubation and airway management.
• Initiates, maintains, monitors, and weans mechanical ventilation, CPAP, and BiPAP on all age groups.
• Attends high-risk deliveries to assess and stabilize the neonate.
• Assesses and manages airway patency, intubation, suctioning, oxygenation and ventilation.
• Attends neonatal through geriatric resuscitations and manages airway, ventilation, and oxygenation during CPR.
• Assists with procedures such as tracheotomy, thoracentesis, chest tube and arterial line insertion.
• Formulates a Respiratory Care plan and communicates changes to the healthcare team.
• Documents all data in the patient’s medical record following services.
• Maintains knowledge of department forms and flow charts.
• Demonstrates competency across age groups from neonate to geriatric.

Education

Associates Degree in Respiratory Care

Registered by the National Board for Respiratory Care

South Carolina Respiratory Care Practitioner License

BLS certification by the American Heart Association
