Job summary

Carilion Clinic seeks a Registered Respiratory Therapist for the CNRVMC unit in Christiansburg, VA. You will deliver therapeutic, diagnostic, and life-support respiratory care in general and ICU areas, including home care environments.

The role requires an Associate degree or CoARC certification, VA licensure, and RRT credential. Night shift available with a $20,000 sign-on bonus and relocation assistance. Excellent patient care and education are emphasized.

Qualifications

• Effective interpersonal, communication and teamwork skills required.
• Must successfully complete orientation and competency validation for position.
• Be able to acquire BLS within 3 months of employment in this position.

Responsibilities

• Assesses, plans, implements and evaluates patient care in order to achieve optimum patient outcomes for patients of all ages as appropriate to service area.
• Age specific ongoing assessments are completed, documented and used to develop a plan of care.
• Collaborates with health care team/patient/family to develop, implement, and evaluate an age-specific interdisciplinary plan of care.
• Treatments and medications for patients of all ages are accurately administered and documented.
• Patient/family educational needs are identified and incorporated into the plan of care.
• Participates in performance improvement and competency validation.
• Acts as patient advocate and supports patient rights and psychosocial needs.
• Plans strategies to reduce length of stay and resource use.
• Functions as role model for clinical practice and mentors staff.
• Manages resources, priorities, and environment to meet patient care needs.
• Completes projects within established guidelines.
• Provides input into practice and工作 environment improvements.
