Job summary

Stars Behavioral Health Group is seeking a Recovery Counselor for the Olive View Crisis Residential Treatment Center in Sylmar, CA. This para-professional role supports clients with physical and psychosocial needs during a 11:00 PM–7:30 AM shift, Tuesday through Saturday, in a 16-bed residential setting designed for short-term, home-like care.

Responsibilities include maintaining safety, assisting with daily tasks, and, when needed, transporting clients in the company vehicle.

Qualifications

• Education & experience required: High school diploma or equivalent; one year of full-time-equivalent experience in a mental-health program or 20 hours of regulated on-the-job training within the first year.
• Licenses & certifications: Valid California Driver's License; ServSafe Food Handler Certification and First Aid within 90 days.
• Preferred: CNA; Class B driver's license; additional certifications may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct care to meet clients' physical and psychosocial needs.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and therapeutic milieu; enforce safety regulations.
• Assist with client laundry, housekeeping, and related tasks.
• Possess Approved Driver status and drive clients in company vehicle as needed.
• Screen incoming clients/visitors for contraband and inventory client property; monitor surveillance equipment.

Education

ServSafe Food Handler Certification

First Aid certification

Valid California Driver's License

California Class “B” Driver’s License (Preferred)

Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) (Preferred)
