Stars Behavioral Health Group in Downey, CA is seeking a Recovery Counselor for a Friday–Monday, 3:00 pm–11:30 pm shift at a 16-bed crisis residential program. You will provide direct care to meet physical and psychosocial needs, ensure safety and cleanliness, and assist with daily living tasks while modeling professional and compassionate behavior.

The role includes on-site duties, driving clients in the company vehicle when requested, and contributing to a safe, therapeutic milieu.

Formación

• Education & Experience Required: High school diploma or equivalent.
• One year of full-time equivalent experience in a program serving individuals with mental disabilities OR 20 hours of on-the-job training within the first year.
• Licenses & Certifications Required: Valid California Driver's License.
• Preferred: California Class B Driver's License.
• Preferred: Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA).
• Requires ServSafe Food Handler Certification within 90 days of hire.
• Requires First Aid certification within 90 days of hire.

Responsabilidades

• Provide direct care to meet physical and psychosocial needs of clients.
• Ensure safety regulations are followed and facilities are clean and safe.
• Assist with client laundry, household tasks, and daily living activities.
• Possess Approved Driver status and drive clients in the company vehicle as requested.
• Maintain a safe, therapeutic environment and deliver high-quality customer service.
• Screen incoming clients/visitors for contraband and inventory client property.
• Monitor surveillance equipment and control center access; respond to emergencies.
