Summary: The Mobile Outreach Driver will be responsible for maintaining the WOW van’s operational readiness, which will include but not be limited to working with the Illinois Navigator Program & Health Initiatives staff to schedule and plan events appropriate for the WOW van, driving the van to these events across the region, and assisting community-based organizations as appropriate.


In this role, the Mobile Outreach Driver will primarily be working in the community with specific target populations, primary care teams, and other agencies to improve patient care and outcomes. Travel is an extensive part of this role as is a willingness to conduct outreach.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:



  • Encourages and facilitates access to services and provides health education through a range of activities.

  • Drives WOW Van to scheduled events across the State of Illinois

  • Coordinates with the Infectious & Chronic Disease Program Manager to schedule and plan events appropriate to the Health Initiative programs.

  • Maintains tracking system for supplies and equipment.

  • Maintains the company vehicle to ensure that vehicle is in safe operating condition and assures operational readiness.

  • Assist community-based organizations as appropriate with scheduled events and maintain records of clients served per grant guidelines.

  • Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor at all times.

  • Attends departmental and other meetings and training as necessary.

  • Assists basic health supply inventorying and maintenance.

  • Continuously expand knowledge and understanding of Health Initiative programs’ resources, services and programs provided; and human relations and the procedures used in dealing with the public as part of a service or program.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.


Minimum Qualifications:



  • High School diploma or equivalent required.

  • Current Illinois Driver’s License (CDL Preferred) with a good driving record.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to diagnose and resolve basic technical issues.


Working Conditions:



  • Must be available to work some evenings and weekends.

  • Driver’s license and automobile, insurance as required by the State of Illinois.

  • Employment background screening required.
