Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required; rail/logistics education preferred.
• 5+ years in rail, terminal, solid waste, bulk-material or heavy industrial ops.
• 3+ years leading employees or coordinating a shift preferred.
• Knowledge of gondola railcars, railcar movement, unloading and yard operations preferred.
• Experience with heavy equipment like wheel loaders or excavators preferred.
• OSHA/DOT/FRA safety knowledge and radio communication skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and railcar-management systems.

Responsibilities

• Review operating plan, assign staff, equipment and track use based on safety and capacity.
• Direct gondola unloading, material transfer, trailer loading and yard housekeeping.
• Coordinate inbound/outbound rail activity with Scale Operations and landfill leadership.
• Maintain accurate gondola inventory, including location, status and exceptions.
• Ensure unattended railcars are secured and safe from movement.
• Lead start-of-shift briefing on rail activity and communications.
• Monitor production and equipment availability; adjust plan as needed.
• Investigate incidents; secure area and support investigations.
• Prepare end-of-shift written report on production and inventory.
