Job summary

Hartford HealthCare is seeking a dedicated nursing assistant for the psychiatric unit. You will assist nurses in monitoring patients, support daily living activities, and help maintain a safe and therapeutic environment.

Qualifications include a high school diploma, strong communication, and CPR/crisis intervention training within 3 months. Prior psychiatric or medical-surgical experience is preferred. Night shifts with weekend rotations offered.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience in psychiatric-mental health or medical-surgical care preferred.
• Experience with special populations (geriatrics, children/adolescents) preferred.
• Strong communication skills required.
• CPR training and crisis intervention training within 3 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assist nurses in observing and monitoring patients' behavior and physical condition.
• Help patients with personal hygiene and daily living activities.
• Establish therapeutic relationships and encourage participation in recreational and other activities.
• Maintain a safe, therapeutic environment per policies.
• Report to Nurse Manager and follow nursing care plans.
