Job summary

River Oaks Hospital, a 126-bed psychiatric facility outside New Orleans, seeks a Mental Health Tech for full-time night shift. Provide direct resident care, ensure safety, assist with hygiene, and support therapeutic activities. Transport residents to appointments and help carry out scheduled programming under supervision.

Requires a high school diploma or equivalent; CPR certification maintained. Prior behavioral health experience is preferred, with strong communication and professional

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; degree preferred.
• One year of experience in behavioral health or inpatient setting preferred.
• Must maintain CPR certification.
• Good communication skills, emotional stability, ability to work under stress, professional conduct, setting limits and maintaining confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct care and supervision for residents.
• Ensure resident safety and reinforce hygiene and self-help skills.
• Assist in transportation to medical appointments and carry out scheduled programming.
• Support recreational and therapeutic activities and model effective problem solving.
