Job summary

Sheppard Pratt in Towson, MD is hiring a Registered Nurse (RN) for night shift (7 PM–7 AM) on a 36-hour weekly schedule, in-person with rotating weekends. The role involves psychiatric nursing care, assessments, planning, administering and evaluating patient care per treatment plans.

You will provide medical treatment as prescribed, teach and support patients and families, coordinate with the team, document progress, and participate in orientation and ongoing professional development.

Qualifications

• Must possess a current RN license in Maryland (or compact state) at time of appointment and maintain licensure.
• Experience in a psychiatric nursing setting is preferred.
• Extended clinical orientation/training begins immediately after first day of employment.

Responsibilities

• Perform a full range of professional psychiatric nursing services, including assessing, planning, administering, and evaluating patient care per team treatment plans.
• Administer medical treatment as prescribed by physician.
• Teach and provide psychosocial support to patients and families.
• Provide day-to-day clinical direction to assigned Mental Health Workers or other staff.
• Document and report patient progress to treatment team.
