Job summary

Memorial Healthcare System in Florida is seeking a Psychiatric Assistant to provide direct patient care under nursing supervision and help maintain a safe, therapeutic environment on the unit. You will assist with activities of daily living, monitor patient behavior, document changes for the treatment plan, and participate in crisis intervention to ensure patient and staff safety.

A high school diploma and BLS certification are required.

Qualifications

• BLS American Heart E-Card (BLS AHA ECARD) - American Heart Association

Responsibilities

• Inventory and monitors patient belongings. Manages supplies on the unit.
• Assists patients with performing activities of daily living.
• Provides or assists with providing direct patient care, diagnostic procedures and therapeutic interventions.
• Provides crisis intervention on the unit to maintain safety.
• Observes and records patient behavior and activities. Reports any changes in physical, mental or emotional condition to nursing staff and suggests modifications to the treatment plan.
