Job summary

Memorial Healthcare System is seeking a Psychiatric Assistant to support nursing staff on the Behavioral Health unit. You will provide direct patient care, assist with activities of daily living, observe patients, and document changes for the treatment team.

The role requires night shifts (12-hour) and a commitment of three days per week, with tasks focused on safety, crisis intervention and compassionate care.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent (Required).
• BLS American Heart E-Card (BLS AHA ECARD).
• BLS American Heart RQI E-Card (BLS AHA-RQI ECARD).
• BLS Card American Heart_non ecard (BLS AHA).
• BLS Certification Grace (BLS GRACE) required within grace period.
• BLS Red Cross (BLS RC) certification prerequisite.

Responsibilities

• Assists patients with activities of daily living.
• Inventory and monitors patient belongings.
• Manages supplies on the unit.
• Observes and records patient behavior and activities.
• Reports changes in condition and suggests treatment changes.
• Provides crisis intervention to maintain safety.
• Delivers or assists with direct patient care, procedures and interventions.
