Job summary

Memorial Healthcare System in the United States seeks a Psychiatric Assistant to provide direct patient care and help maintain a safe, therapeutic environment on the Behavioral Health unit.

Under nursing supervision, you will assist with daily living activities, observe patient behavior, and report changes to care staff while supporting treatment plans. Previous experience is not required, but BLS and related certifications are expected.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent (Required).
• BLS American Heart Association certifications (BLS AHA ECARD, BLS AHA-RQI ECARD).
• BLS Certification and related credentials may be required.

Responsibilities

• Provides crisis intervention on the unit to maintain safety.
• Inventory and monitors patient belongings; manages unit supplies.
• Delivers or assists with direct patient care, diagnostics and therapies.
• Observes and records patient behavior; reports changes to nursing staff.
• Assists patients with activities of daily living.
