Job summary

AdventHealth in Lenexa, Kansas is seeking a PRN Nights Respiratory Therapist to support critical care patients. The role requires an Associate degree in Respiratory Therapy and active licensure as an RRT where applicable.

Responsibilities include ARDS/PACU support, arterial blood gas analysis, and ventilator management in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team. Ideal candidates have 1+ years of critical care experience, BLS certification, and NBRC credentials; NBRC RRT is preferred.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Respiratory Therapy.
• Field of Study: Respiratory Therapy or Cardiopulmonary Science.
• NBRC credential must be maintained as a condition of continued role eligibility.
• All States require NBRC for new hires and incumbents.
• Licenses/Certifications: BLS CPR, State Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) required; NBRC RRT preferred.

Responsibilities

• Documents and charges for procedures accurately and completely.
• Demonstrates collaboration and teamwork in assisting with patient flow.
• Performs respiratory and oxygen delivery therapies and makes recommendations per protocol.
• Responds to Code Blue emergencies with CPR per AHA guidelines.
• Obtains and analyzes arterial blood gases and co-oximetry; performs quality controls.
• Performs airway maintenance and initiates/monitors mechanical ventilation per policy.
• Assesses patients and, with the team, adjusts therapy to optimize outcomes.
