Job summary

Hilltop Commons Senior Living is seeking a Night Porter for an overnight, full-time role. You will work Sundays through Thursdays from 11:30 PM to 8:00 AM, ensuring the building is clean, secure, and well‑maintained.

You will respond to emergencies and serve as the first point of contact after hours. The position requires a High School diploma or GED and at least 1 year in janitorial or housekeeping, with seniors experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Responds to emergency calls, either from pull‑cord system or pendant system.
• Main point of contact for all after‑hours phone calls.
• Ensures building grounds are clean and well maintained; cleans sidewalks, entrances, and patio.
• Dusts, vacuums and cleans common areas: kitchen, dining room, bathrooms, gym, library, game room.
• Takes trash and recycling to bins or dumpsters.
• Ensures security by periodic walk-throughs and secure entry ways.
• Reads and reports in the logbook each shift to document issues.

Job description

Hilltop Commons Senior Living is looking for a Night Porter to join our team. This position is full‑time, benefit eligible. Scheduled hours are Sunday through Thursday, 11:30 PM to 8 AM (overnight).

Job Summary

Works closely with the Community Administrator and on‑site team to ensure the community is clean, well‑kept, and in accordance with Ray Stone Inc. standards. The Porter is responsible for keeping the building secure and is the first point of contact for all emergencies.

Job Duties

• Responds to emergency calls, either from pull‑cord system or through pendant system depending on assigned community.
• Main point of contact for all after‑hours phone calls.
• Ensures that the building grounds are clean and well maintained. Responsible for cleaning and upkeep of sidewalk areas, outside entrances, and patio furniture.
• Responsible for dusting, vacuuming and general cleanliness of common areas in the community; including the kitchen, dining room, bathrooms, exercise rooms, library, and game room.
• Takes all trash and recycle to the appropriate bins or dumpsters.
• Ensures the security of the building by performing periodic walk‑throughs, checking that all entry ways are secure.
• Reports in and reads the logbook each shift to ensure accurate communication and documentation of any issues.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk, stand, and use hands to handle/lift objects. The employee occasionally must be able to lift up to fifty (50) pounds. Additionally, the employee, on occasion, must crouch, kneel, or climb stairs. Most work is performed in an office environment and requires the ability to operate standard office equipment and keyboards. This position requires substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands and/or fingers. Must have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures, transcribing, viewing a computer terminal, extensive reading. Must have the ability to walk short distances.
