Job summary

TriCore Reference Laboratories is seeking a Clinical Lab Assistant - Phlebotomist for University Hospital. The role requires flexibility for overnight and weekend shifts and on-call coverage where needed.

The position emphasizes independent work, adherence to confidentiality, and strong communication with patients and staff. Training will occur on-site, with opportunities for advancement as modalities increase.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or equivalent.
• PBT (ASCP) or equivalent certification preferred.
• Immunization against Hepatitis B required or waiver/documentation.
• Eligible to work in a health care facility.

Responsibilities

• Performs duties in a professional and courteous manner.
• Maintains supplies and inventory necessary to perform departmental functions.
• Observe students and/or new staff as needed.
• Exhibits basic problem solving skills to ensure customer and patient care service levels.
• Responsible for hospital communication responsibilities as assigned, including on-call responsibilities during scheduled hours by location.
• Demonstrates effective telephone and verbal communication skills.
• Assists in maintaining confidentiality of information.
• Participates in on-call and holiday/weekend coverage as needed.
