Job summary

Methodist Health System in Dallas, TX is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to support paraprofessional tasks in a busy hospital pharmacy. The role operates 10-hour night shifts (9 PM–7 AM) on a 7 on/7 off schedule, with holidays rotating as needed, and serves multiple nursing units and departments.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma, holds IV certification if possible, Texas State Board of Pharmacy registration or student internship license, and at least one year of hospital pharmacy

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
• IV certification preferred.
• Registered technician with the Texas State Board of Pharmacy or Pharmacy student internship license.
• 1 year of Pharmacy experience required.
• Hospital Pharmacy experience preferred.
• Computer skills preferred.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and patient privacy standards.

Responsibilities

• Answers the telephone and front window.
• Gathers items for requisitions and crash carts to be checked by pharmacist.
• Maintains clean and orderly work area; restocks medications and the work area.
• Assists in maintaining inventory levels by notifying purchasing.
• Maintains drug storage systems through restock and troubleshooting.
• Makes rounds delivering medications and collecting discontinued orders.
• Performs charges/credits for floor stock, narcotics, and return meds in system.
• Processes medications in OR/IV lab/first fill for dispensing.
• Trains new employees as assigned.
• Other duties as assigned.
