Job summary

Cook Children's Medical Center is seeking a Pharmacy Technician II for the Pharmacy Department in Fort Worth. The role supports pharmacists, performs standard tasks, and participates in patient and staff services on the 8:00pm-6:00am shift under supervision.

The schedule is 7 days on, 7 days off. Candidates should have high school diploma, at least one year in CCMC pharmacy or IV prep experience, and appropriate certification or enrollment.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• At least 1 year in CCMC pharmacy with advanced area knowledge or IV preparation experience.
• Basic knowledge of math, the metric system, pharmaceutical chemistry, and medical terminology.
• Good telephone skills and good oral communication skills are essential.
• Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT) OR enrolled in ACPE accredited school of pharmacy; Texas State Board of Pharmacy Technician Registration OR Pharmacy Intern License; ACPE IV certification required.

Responsibilities

• Assist the pharmacist in providing pharmacy services to patients and staff.
• Clerical tasks: answering phones, recording, filing, and reporting pharmacy activities and services.
• Work in areas such as Central PO, Omnicell processing, audits, sterile and non-sterile compounding including chemotherapy and hazmat medications.
• All tasks performed under the direct supervision of an experienced pharmacist.
