Job summary

Pomelo Care is hiring an Obstetric Behavioral Health Nurse for night shift (5p-1a ET, M-Th) in the United States. The role focuses on completing initial intake, crisis consultation, and coordinating perinatal behavioral health care to improve patient outcomes.

You will work remotely with a Behavioral Health Lead and cross-functional team. Responsibilities include risk assessment, triage, care planning, psychoeducation, progress monitoring, and advocacy for patient rights.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse with an unrestricted multi-state compact license and residence in a nursing compact state.
• 4+ years experience in a hospital and/or healthcare practice serving maternal-child health populations.
• Experience or advanced training in psychiatric nursing, perinatal mental health or related field.
• Experience working with pregnant and postpartum individuals and their families.

Responsibilities

• Conduct initial patient risk assessments and triage based on urgency and severity of mental health conditions.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals including obstetricians, APPs, nurses, care coordinators and therapists.
• Develop and implement individualized care plans for patients.
• Provide psychoeducation to patients and their families about perinatal mental health conditions and treatment options.
• Monitor patients' progress and adjust care plans as necessary.
• Advocate for patients' rights and ensure that care is delivered respecting autonomy and dignity.
• Participate in ongoing professional development and training on perinatal mental health nursing.
