Job summary

Bradley Hospital in East Providence, Rhode Island, seeks a Behavioral Health Specialist I to support children and adolescents on an inpatient/partial care team. You will provide direct care, safety, and therapeutic support under RN supervision, helping implement milieu programming and document care.

The role requires a baccalaureate degree preferred in Human Services, current Safety Care certification, and 6 months to 1 year of direct childcare experience with emotionally impaired youth.

Qualifications

• Baccalaureate degree in a Human Services field preferred.
• Equivalent education and experience may be considered by the Hiring Manager.
• Safety Care Certification required (or ability to obtain).
• Six months to one year of direct childcare experience with emotionally impaired youth.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe, therapeutic environment and engage assigned patients throughout the shift.
• Participate in developing and implementing milieu care plans per unit policies.
• Maintain and document required levels of patient observation each shift.
• Support visiting parents and provide information as directed by the treatment team.
• Supervise patients during daily routines and assist with activities of daily living and hygiene.
• Intervene therapeutically in disruptive or unsafe situations and report promptly.
• Complete necessary documentation including incident reports and intake materials.
