Job summary

Prime Healthcare Services is seeking a Patient Care Assistant II for Bridgton Hospital, offering a full-time night shift (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) with a pay range of $23.00 to $26.75 per hour. The role emphasizes direct patient care, daily living activities support, and maintaining a safe environment under RN supervision, including monitoring dysrhythmias.

Ideal candidates hold a current patient care certification and applicable certifications in dysrhythmia interpretation and BLS.

Qualifications

• Current Certification in Patient Care required (M.A. / CNA / EMT / Paramedic / Patient Care Tech, etc.).
• Current Dysrhythmia Interpretation Certificate upon hire and maintain current preferred.
• Current BLS (AHA) within 30 days of hire and maintain current
• Six months previous experience as Monitor Technician, preferred.
• Current Phlebotomy certification upon hire, preferred.
• Current EKG certification upon hire, preferred.
• Possesses knowledge of Medical Terminology.
• Minimum six months previous experience in an acute care hospital or physician’s office, preferred.
• High School Diploma or equivalent

Responsibilities

• The Patient Care Assistant II (PCA II) is a certified person who performs direct care in the department setting. The PCA II maintains a current certification in patient care and is responsible to assist patients with activities of daily living, provides basic nursing care to all patients and assists in maintenance of a safe environment under the direction and supervision of the RN as long as the activity does not distract from primary responsibility for dysrhythmia monitoring.
