Job summary

Sentara Martha Jefferson Hospital in Charlottesville, VA is seeking a Patient Care Technician for the Med/Surg Oncology unit on a full-time night shift (7P–7A). Responsibilities include providing patient care, assisting with daily living activities, monitoring vital signs, mobility and ambulation, phlebotomy, EKG testing, IV/ Foley tasks, specimen collection, and documenting observations under the RN.

BLS required within 90 days of hire.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED required.
• BLS certification within 90 days of hire required.
• One year healthcare experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care and assist with activities of daily living.
• Monitor vital signs and document changes between shifts.
• Assist with mobility, ambulation, and specimen collection.
