Qualifications

• Completion of a recognized Nurse Assistant program or equivalent.
• Completion of Medical Assistant program or equivalent.
• Completion of Medical Corpsman program or EMT program or UTMB Aide Training program.
• Two years of experience in a direct patient care environment is required or candidate may be certified.

Responsibilities

• Collects, reports, and documents vital signs, intake/output, and specimens.
• Obtains blood samples by venipuncture.
• Acquires 12 lead EKG.
• Performs and reports POCT.
• Assists with activities of daily living and mobility as per care plan.
• Maintains patient privacy and a safe environment.
• Documents care and assists with hospital services as requested.
