Job summary

Barnes-Jewish Hospital at Washington University Medical Center in St. Louis, MO is seeking a Certified Nurse Assistant to provide direct patient care under the supervision of licensed nurses.

This role supports a team caring for patients during night shifts, 36 hours per week, with every third weekend and rotating holidays. The CNA will take vital signs, assist with activities of daily living, document care using medical terminology, and help maintain a safe environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Certified Nurse Assistant certification required or preferred.
• No prior experience required.

Responsibilities

• Implements direct patient care under the supervision of the nurse, assisting patients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) and taking vital signs.
• Collects clinical data and reports changes in patient status to the nurse.
• Documents all patient care activities using correct medical terminology.
• Acts as 1:1 patient safety sitter as necessary.
• Monitors supplies and equipment to meet patient needs.
• Participates in activities promoting patient safety and regulatory compliance.
