Job summary

Sentara Williamsburg Regional Medical Center in Williamsburg, VA, is hiring a Patient Care Technician (PCT) for the Medical Telemetry unit. This full-time position covers the night shift, providing patient care, vital signs, and support with daily living activities under RN supervision.

The PCT will perform phlebotomy, EKG testing, specimen collection, and Foley catheter handling, with responsibilities including accurate documentation and monitoring patient status for changes to the care team.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or equivalent with one of the listed certifications.
• Basic Life Support Certification required.
• Experience as a PCT or Nursing Assistant within last three years is acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care and assist with activities of daily living.
• Take and record vital signs, assist with mobility and ambulation.
• Perform phlebotomy, point-of-care testing, and EKG testing.
• Collect specimens and remove peripheral IVs as directed.
• Assist with Foley catheter insertion and removal; document findings accurately.
• Observe patient status and report changes to RN/medical staff.
