Temple Health is seeking a Patient Care Assistant for 7 North Medical Surgical/Neuro. This full-time role supports direct and indirect patient care under the supervision of the Registered Nurse, including monitoring vital signs, assisting with activities of daily living, and ensuring patient safety during night shifts from 11:00 p.m.

to 7:00 a.m. Candidates should have a High School diploma or GED; Nursing Assistant or Medical Assistant training is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Nursing Assistant or Medical Assistant program or clinical rotation preferred.
• 1 year experience in patient care preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct and indirect patient care under the guidance of the Registered Nurse.
• Implements components of the plan of care based on physical, psychosocial and spiritual needs.
• Measures vital signs, performs ECGs, and capillary blood glucose checks.
• Observes and reports equipment function, treatment results, dressing condition and any change in patient condition.
• Follows the Hospital Customer Service Program: confidentiality, responsiveness, caring.
• If certification is not present at hire, completes onsite nursing certification within 90 days of hire.
