Job summary

Pennswood Village in Newtown Township, PA is hiring Part-Time Direct Care / Personal Care Assistants. No experience is necessary, and on-the-job training is provided.

You will assist residents with activities of daily living under the nurse-in-charge and participate in the interdisciplinary care team. The role requires a high school diploma, DHS training within 30 days, and completion of the DHS 6-hour Direct Care course within the first week.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of DHS-approved medication administration training (provided by Pennswood Village and must be completed within the first 30 days).
• Completion of the DHS 6-hour Direct Care training course (within the first week).
• No experience required; we will train you.
• Must be able to read, write, and follow oral instructions.

Responsibilities

• Plan and complete patient care assignments, assist with activities of daily living.
• Maintain patient rights and advocate for patients.
• Establish safe working habits in patient care delivery.
• Participate in ongoing education as required by DHS.
• Participate in the plan of care as part of the interdisciplinary team.
• Assist in orientation of new staff.
