Ascension in Greenfield, Indiana, seeks a skilled EMS professional for the Ambulance Ground team. This night full-time role involves providing advanced life support at scenes and during patient transport, coordinating with physicians and RNs, and ensuring equipment readiness.

The position requires a current BLS provider credential within 30 days and either NREMT or Indiana EMS Paramedic certification prior to hire. ALS and pediatric life support certifications are preferred.

Qualifications

• BLS Provider within 1 month of hire or transfer date; accepted by AHA or Red Cross.
• Credentialed EMT from NREMT or Paramedic credential from Indiana Homeland Security before hire date.
• Advanced Life Support preferred; BLS/ALS certifications accepted by major agencies.
• ER Vehicle Operation certification preferred.
• Neonatal Resuscitation certification preferred (AAP).
• Pediatric Life Support preferred (AHA/Red Cross).
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support preferred (AHA/Red Cross).
• Certified Prehospital Trauma Life Support preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide advanced life support for critically ill/injured patients at the scene and during transport as part of the transport team.
• Identify, intervene, and stabilize the ill or injured patient during interfacility and intrafacility transport in collaboration with the transport physician and/or RN.
• Initiate and implement interventions based on transport team protocols; monitor, record and communicate patient condition and treatment; contact receiving medical personnel and follow directives.
• Inspect, maintain and care for equipment to ensure safety of the transport team, patients and public.
• Drive an ambulance to transport patients and/or supplies.
