Job summary

Atrium Health Navicent in Macon, GA is seeking a Physician Assistant for a full-time, night-shift position in the Orthopaedic Trauma service. This inpatient orthopaedic trauma practice operates in a Level I Trauma Center and collaborates with four fellowship-trained physicians to deliver patient-centered care.

You will evaluate trauma patients, develop treatment plans with supervising physicians, perform procedures within scope, and participate in quality initiatives.

Qualifications

• NCCPA certification required.
• Eligible for or currently holding Georgia PA license.
• DEA certification or eligibility, if applicable.
• BLS and ACLS certifications required or obtained within organizational guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate, assess, and manage orthopaedic trauma patients in the inpatient setting.
• Perform comprehensive history and physical examinations.
• Develop and implement treatment plans in collaboration with supervising physicians.
• Respond to orthopaedic trauma consults and patient care needs during overnight hours.
• Assist in the management of fractures, musculoskeletal injuries, and post-operative patients.
• Order, interpret, and evaluate laboratory and diagnostic studies.
• Coordinate care with physicians, nursing staff, therapists, and other interdisciplinary team members.
• Document patient encounters, treatment plans, and procedural notes in the electronic medical record.
