Job summary

Atrium Health Navicent Orthopaedic Trauma is seeking a Physician Assistant for a full-time, inpatient orthopaedic trauma position at a Level I Trauma Center.

Night shift 6:00 PM–8:00 AM, with mentorship from four fellowship-trained orthopedic trauma physicians. Provides autonomous clinical care with structured support, education, and opportunities to develop specialized trauma expertise while serving a diverse patient population.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program.
• NCCPA certification required and Georgia license eligible.
• DEA certification or eligibility; BLS and ACLS required or obtained.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and manage orthopaedic trauma patients in the inpatient setting.
• Perform comprehensive history and physical examinations.
• Develop and implement treatment plans with supervising physicians.
• Respond to orthopaedic trauma consults and overnight care needs.
• Assist in fracture management and postoperative care.
• Order, interpret, and evaluate laboratory and diagnostic studies.
• Perform procedures within scope of training and competency.
• Coordinate care with physicians, nursing staff, therapists and other team members.
• Document encounters, plans and procedures in the EMR.
• Participate in quality improvement and departmental education.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
