Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in healthcare or related field.
• At least one year of healthcare experience including management and supervision.
• Must be able to read, write, and speak the English language.
• Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant.
• Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with families, residents, visitors, personnel, regulatory agencies, and the general public.
• Must possess leadership and supervisory ability and willingness to work harmoniously with personnel.

Responsibilities

• Conduct ongoing facility rounds throughout shift across the entire facility including all units, resident rooms, storage, kitchen and laundry.
• Address immediate concerns for resolution and communicate status to the appropriate department head and Administrator.
• Report incidents regarding resident quality of care and emergencies to the Administrator.
• Immediately report serious incidents to the Administrator.
• Check the status of residents as directed by the Administrator.
• Monitor and supervise all staff on duty.
• Verify the completion of scheduled showers.
• May initiate discipline as necessary.
• Validate staffing at shift start and address any staffing concerns with the relevant department head or Administrator.
• Verify completion of Quick ADT for discharges/transfers.
• Maintain safety by checking building alarms and elopement prevention devices.
• Familiarize self with all policies and emergency procedures and carry them out as needed.
• Ensure direct care staff are checking and changing residents per guidelines.
• Ensure direct care staff have cleaned all resident wheelchairs.
• Ensure floors are stocked with necessary supplies for the morning shift.
• Ensure resident clothing is laid out for the morning shift.
• Ensure dining rooms and pantries are clean after meals.
• Ensure PCC documentation is completed by nursing as necessary.
• Monitor breaks by all employees.
• Responsible for facility supervisor keys.
• Provide the Administrator with a shift-end report documenting duties performed.
