Job summary

You will lead staff across departments, ensure timely staffing, promote development paths, and uphold Meijer standards while driving a positive shopping experience for customers in a fast-paced retail environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or its equivalent is required.
• 2-3 years of related retail experience.
• One year of management experience.
• Rotational assignments in other areas of the store and customer service experience are helpful.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and provide direction.
• Demonstrated ability to resolve conflict and address root causes.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks.
• Demonstrated ability to analyze financial and statistical information.

Responsibilities

• Plans, directs and supervises team members in day-to-day store operations.
• Serves as mentor and coach for all team members.
• Implements strategies to improve customer service and drive store sales.
• Maintains store appearance focusing on prime shopping hours and presentation.
• Staffing, selection and hiring to meet staffing needs.
• Promotes succession planning and development paths for team members.
• Documents and applies disciplinary actions and discharges when needed.
• Responsible for P&L, sales targets and shrink control.
• Mentors and coaches to exceed customer service and sales goals.
• Ensures team training and adherence to Meijer standards.
