Des Moines Public School District is seeking an Operations Engineer, 1st Assistant Class 6 at Goodrell Middle School. The role covers evening hours 3:30pm–12:00am, leading custodial staff and ensuring safe building operations.

The candidate will supervise custodial teams, manage night-time facility needs, and support the Chief with audits and evaluations. A Pool Operations license or ability to obtain within 120 days is required, with a 260-day, full-time schedule.

Qualifications

• Four years of custodial experience.
• Two years of leadership experience.
• Certified Pool Operations license in buildings with swimming pool or ability to obtain the license within 120 days of job assignments

Responsabilités

• Serve as assistant to chief in assigned facilities.
• Coordinate staff schedules and maintain inventories.
• Perform basic maintenance and repair to equipment and facilities.
• Ensure facility is properly heated, ventilated and secured each night.
• Assist with annual performance evaluations of subordinate employees.
• Attend work promptly and maintain confidentiality.
• Maintain harmonious relationships with the public, students, and other employees.
