Job summary

Dignity Health - Mercy San Juan Medical Center is seeking a Night On Call Per Diem Hospice Registered Nurse to provide compassionate, home-based hospice care for patients and families, enabling comfort during end-of-life care.

This role requires a California RN license, BLS, and a valid California driver’s license with auto insurance. Shifts run 1700–0830 on-call, coordinating with an interdisciplinary team to meet regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• Minimum One (1) year Hospice nursing (LVN or RN) experience in the past five (5) years
• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of California
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification - American Heart Association
• Current California Driver's License, Auto Insurance and access to an operating motor vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care and coordinate with the interdisciplinary team in the home setting.
• Meet discipline-specific productivity standards and ensure compliance with regulations.
• Document follow-up and progress toward goals and physician orders as per policy.
• Communicate with other disciplines to coordinate care and document communications.
