Job summary

Brown University Health seeks a Behavioral Health Attendant to maintain constant observation of high-risk patients and ensure their safety. You will document observations, report changes to RNs, and support patient care while upholding infection prevention and professional standards.

Successful candidates will work under RN supervision, greet patients professionally, and remain dedicated to patient monitoring throughout the shift. On-the-job training is provided.

Qualifications

• English communication skills required.
• Ability to accurately document pertinent information by writing or typing.
• Strong critical thinking and interpersonal skills for patient care.
• On-the-job training provided; hospital experience a plus.

Responsibilities

• Maintain constant observation of the patient, facing the patient at all times.
• Do not leave the patient unattended, including when visitors are present.
• Do not leave the assignment without RN approval and relief.
• Receive, review, and discuss the RN's report detailing any special needs or monitoring requirements.
• Immediately report any observed changes in the patient's behavior or condition to the duty nurse.
