Job summary

Cleveland Clinic’s Lutheran Hospital is seeking a Nursing Department Assistant III for the 2B Adult Psychiatry Unit. You will support patients with daily living activities and assist with care in a fast-paced hospital environment.

The role includes performing EKGs, monitoring glucose, collecting specimens, and documenting vital signs, with emphasis on safety and patient comfort. Night shifts run 11:00 p.m.–7:30 a.m. and offer valuable hands-on nursing experience.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• BLS Certification through AHA or Red Cross within new hire period required.
• STNA certification and prior nursing assistant experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with a wide variety of patient care tasks and collaborate with health care teams.
• Organize patient care assignments to ensure timely delivery of care.
• Document care in patient records and report concerns to RN/LPN.
• Administer basic checks such as pain assessment and vital signs.
• Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the unit and patient rooms.
• Prepare rooms for admissions and manage equipment and supplies.
