Job summary

Healthcare Nursing Center in Vernon, CT seeks an experienced Registered Nurse Supervisor for the night shift (11pm–7am). The RN Unit Manager will oversee LTC operations, ensure high-quality resident care, and provide leadership to the nursing team.

Responsibilities include implementing policies, supervising care, communicating with families, overseeing physician orders, and ensuring accurate medical records.

Qualifications

• Active RN license in Connecticut.
• Minimum 3 years in geriatric nursing or rehabilitation; at least 1 year supervisory experience.
• Knowledge of nursing theory and administration of medications.
• IV-line management certification preferred.
• CPR certification required.
• Strong written, verbal, analytical and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Interpret and implement nursing policies.
• Supervise nursing care and provide education and mentoring to staff.
• Make rounds on units and communicate with families.
• Respond to emergencies and provide medical oversight.
• Verify physician orders and report changes.
• Secure pre-admission reports and ensure a safe environment.
• Ensure medical records are complete and accurate.
• Conduct chart audits and oversee physician schedules.
• Cover DNS/ADNS duties and charge nurse responsibilities when needed.
• Attend meetings as directed by Supervisor/ Administrator.
