Job summary

Qualifications

• Active RN license in good standing.
• Strong leadership and supervision skills.
• Knowledge of hospital policies and procedures.
• Ability to document and report accurately.

Responsibilities

• Assesses patient care requirements by rounds across hospital units.
• Ensure departmental staffing plans are implemented.
• Serve as a resource to staff for solving clinical problems.
• Assist staff to utilize staffing and resources to meet patient needs.
• Provide timely incident reporting to management.
• Respond to emergency situations and assist as needed.
• Act as a resource in identifying and solving administrative problems.
• Coordinate with departments for problem solving and support.
• Interpret and ensure adherence to hospital nursing philosophy and policies.
• Report significant incidents to administrator-on-call or DON/Nurse Manager.
• Provide feedback and assist with performance evaluations.
• Identify staff needs for continuing education with DON/Nurse Manager.
• Provide education and competency assessments as directed by DON/Nurse Manager.
• Monitor documentation for adherence to regulations.
• Ensure environment of care requirements are met.
