Role Description

The Nursing Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Chicago, IL, responsible for overseeing nursing staff and daily clinical operations on assigned units. This position plans, coordinates, and evaluates nursing care, ensuring that residents receive safe, high-quality, and person-centered services in accordance with regulatory standards and facility policies. Day-to-day responsibilities include supervising and mentoring nursing personnel, managing schedules, supporting clinical decision-making, and monitoring documentation and care plans. The Nursing Manager collaborates with physicians, therapists, social services, and families to support effective treatment plans and smooth transitions of care. The role also involves participating in quality improvement initiatives, staff education, and performance evaluations to promote continuous improvement in resident care.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated Nursing Management skills, including team leadership, staffing coordination, and oversight of nursing operations.
• Strong clinical foundation in Nursing and Medicine, with the ability to apply evidence-based practices in a long-term care and rehabilitation setting.
• Experience in Critical Care Medicine or higher-acuity care environments, with sound judgment in responding to changes in resident condition.
• Proven commitment to high-quality Patient Care, focusing on safety, comfort, and dignity for residents with varied medical and functional needs.
• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Illinois; BSN or advanced nursing degree preferred.
• Prior supervisory or nurse leadership experience in a skilled nursing facility, hospital, or similar care setting.
• Strong communication, collaboration, and conflict-resolution skills, with the ability to work effectively with interdisciplinary teams and families.
• Knowledge of applicable regulations, documentation standards, and infection control practices in post-acute and long-term care.
• Ability to prioritize, organize, and manage multiple responsibilities in a dynamic clinical environment.
