Job summary

Advocate Health’s 4th Surgery Med Surg Unit seeks a dedicated RN for full-time night shifts. The role focuses on safe, comprehensive perioperative and post-operative care for adults and geriatrics, with emphasis on evidence-based practice and patient-family engagement.

Requirements include a board-approved nursing program completion, active RN licensure in the state, and BLS certification. 1 year of clinical nursing experience is typical; BSN preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a Board of Nursing approved nursing program.
• RN license active for practice in the state.
• BLS certification required; telehealth/remote work licensing noted.

Responsibilities

• Engages in unit councils, governance and quality initiatives to improve care processes.
• Uses nursing process to assess, plan, diagnose, implement and evaluate care with patient families.
• Monitors patient conditions, adjusts plans, and collaborates with care team.
• Maintains safety culture and accurate EHR documentation.
• May administer medications and therapies per protocol; delegate appropriately.
