Job summary

Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center in Boise is seeking a Nurse Apprentice for the Neuro Surgical Trauma Unit. The unit cares for post-operative and neurological patients, including brain injuries and strokes, across 17 beds.

The role involves supporting clinical staff, nursing care duties, and patient comfort under licensed nurse supervision. Schedule includes 3 shifts per two weeks, 7:00 PM–7:30 AM, with varied hours including weekends and holidays.

Qualifications

• Certified Nursing Assistant Certification or Trinity Nursing Assistant Program required.
• Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers certification from AHA, ARC or Military Training Network required at hire in all units, unless ACLS/PALS already.
• Six months patient care experience in an acute care setting preferred.
• Demonstrates knowledge and skills to care for Neonate to Geriatric patients as applicable.

Responsibilities

• Support clinical staff at unit level by performing clerical, receptionist and patient service coordination.
• Perform nursing care services and related non-professional services necessary for personal needs and comfort under supervision of licensed nurse.
