Job summary

The University of Kansas is seeking an IT Support Technician Senior (Second Shift Lead) to provide technical leadership for overnight operations in the NOC. You will oversee incident response, outages, and security events while mentoring staff and ensuring policy compliance.

With a strong focus on monitoring platforms and data center operations, you will coordinate major issue resolutions, document procedures, and drive continuous improvement during night shifts.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED with 3 years of relevant experience or Associate’s with 1 year.
• Two years monitoring enterprise systems, networks, applications, or infrastructure.
• Experience mentoring and guiding staff in procedures, incident response, and escalation.

Responsibilities

• Lead after-hours incidents and serve as primary escalation point for overnight operations.
• Coordinate incident resolution, communications, and escalation activities.
• Provide leadership during emergencies and monitor enterprise systems.
• Administer and maintain enterprise monitoring platforms.
• Develop SOPs, knowledge base content, and restoration/documentation.
