Job summary

Abbott in Columbus, Ohio seeks a microbiology‑focused technician to perform analysis of raw ingredients, in‑process samples, finished products and environmental monitoring to ensure quality. You will collaborate with fellow microbiologists, maintain accuracy, and document results in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.

The role requires a High School Diploma with lab study and math background or a science degree, plus several years of lab experience; LIMSA and aseptic techniques are preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma with 1 year lab studies and 1 year math, or equivalent.
• 3+ years in food, pharma, or medical device lab/production.
• Knowledge of infant formula regulatory standards and requirements.

Responsibilities

• Apply microbiological techniques to raw ingredients, in-process samples, finished products, and environmental monitoring.
• Collaborate with microbiologists; maintain motivation, attention to detail, and clear communication.
• Prioritize tasks to deliver accurate results and communicate in a team environment.
• Conduct product, environmental, and raw ingredient testing.
• Handle documentation, project work, and troubleshooting activities.
• Prepare media and perform general lab work, including housekeeping.
