Responsibilities

  • Prepare samples for indicator organisms, pathogens, and chemistries
  • Apply aseptic techniques in daily workload
  • Maintain media and reagents for daily microbiological testing
  • Inventory and report expendable supplies/materials
  • Provide routine preventive maintenance by daily cleaning, sanitizing, and trash disposal
  • Perform quality control monitoring (incubator temps, control organisms, media controls)
  • Independently pursue assigned processes per FSNS policies and customer requirements
  • Maintain laboratory condition (equipment, supplies, QA programs, records)
  • Perform all activities neatly, safely, hygienically, and efficiently
  • Share information openly and timely
  • Assist with prioritizing work to meet team goals
  • Ensure safety of self and others
  • Complete required training
