Job summary

Certified Group is seeking a Microbiology Technician to prepare samples for analytical microbiological testing of food products, ingredients, and environmental samples. The role uses approved microbiological techniques in analytical testing to support regulatory and quality standards.

Responsibilities include aseptic task execution, maintaining media and reagents, and ensuring accurate records; the candidate will work with the FSNS team to meet safety and quality requirements in a fast-paced lab

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Associate degree in Life Science or two years of laboratory experience preferred.
• Broad knowledge of concepts, practices, and procedures of a food testing laboratory.

Responsibilities

• Prepare samples for indicator organisms, pathogens, and chemistries.
• Apply aseptic techniques in daily workload.
• Maintain media and reagents for daily microbiological testing.
• Inventory and report expendable supplies/materials needed for testing requirements.
• Provide routine preventive maintenance by daily cleaning, sanitizing, and trash disposal.
• Perform quality control monitoring by incubator temperatures and controls.
• Pursue assigned processes per FSNS policies and customer requirements.
• Maintain laboratory condition and accurate records throughout procedures.
• Perform activities in a neat, safe, hygienic, and efficient manner.
• Share information openly and timely with the team.
• Assist in managing priorities to achieve individual and team goals.
