Job summary

Havenwyck Hospital, a UHS facility in Auburn Hills, Michigan, is hiring a Mental Health Technician for the PT Nights shift (24 hrs/week, 7:00 PM–7:30 AM, every other weekend).

The technician will perform routine patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, assist with admissions/discharges/transfers, monitor patients for agitation, report changes, and support activities of daily living while maintaining a safe, therapeutic environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Prefer a minimum of two years of college in psychology, social work, mental health or related fields.
• Experience dealing with emotionally disturbed patients preferred.

Responsibilities

• Follows nursing leadership and hospital policies and procedures.
• Reports patient medical problems to the Registered Nurse.
• Monitors for verbal and non-verbal cues of aggression and uses de-escalation techniques as needed.
• Assists with admissions, discharges and transfers and completes documentation.
• Provides care in a safe, respectful, and therapeutic environment.
