Job summary

The Sentinel of Amsterdam seeks a Medication Technician to administer medications to residents in compliance with NYS rules and facility policies. You will document MAR entries, monitor health status, and assist with resident engagement and safety.

Responsibilities include coordinating with pharmacies, reporting changes to administration, and providing compassionate care on an overnight schedule. Strong documentation and communication are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Administer medications per physician orders and NYS guidelines.
• Accurately document all medications in the MAR.
• Monitor residents for side effects and report concerns to nursing/Administration.
• Ensure proper storage, handling, and disposal of medications.
• Communicate with pharmacies and providers regarding refills and updates.

Responsibilities

• Observe residents for medication side effects or adverse reactions and report concerns.
• Ensure proper storage, handling, and disposal of medications.
• Communicate with pharmacies and providers as needed regarding medication refills and updates.
• Monitor residents' health, safety, and well-being.
• Inform Administration of changes in a resident's condition.
• Respond to emergencies and provide first aid within scope of training.
• Arrange transportation for medical appointments.
• Document changes in functional status and appointments.
• Encourage socialization and participation in activities.
• Provide one-on-one support per care plans.
